Dave Batchelor’s hugely popular “Story Of Swing” has combined great live music, visuals, and dancing, with a narrative that pieces together the history of the music. His new show focuses on the celebrated “Kings Of Swing” with the same brilliant ingredients – and a story line that doesn’t forget Louis Armstrong, Barney Bigard and Swing’s New Orleans’ roots.
Sultry, sophisticated singer Lorna Reid recreates the sounds of the great Big Band Vocalists like Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Helen Forrest and Marion Hutton.
The show includes hit tunes like “Stompin' At The Savoy”; “Sing, Sing, Sing”; “Little Brown Jug” and “In The Mood” played by Scotland’s leading swing big band; with the doyens of Charleston, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug and Ragtime Dance, The Jump Time Dancers, on hand, to illustrate the dance moves. It’s a tale of musical legends, fun, and good times. A great night out!
