The London Chamber Ensemble, founded by Madeleine Mitchell is a flexible ensemble of 3-12 outstanding chamber musicians. Since 2019 it has had a string quartet at its core – Madeleine Mitchell, violin; Gordon MacKay, violin; Bridget Carey, viola; and Joseph Spooner, cello – and imaginative and fine performances have won widespread acclaim. Their recording of Herbert Howell’s third string quartet ‘In Gloucestershire’ is about to be released.
